Jewelry

This artwork is part of a series of paintings/illustrations/studies conducted with my Left (non-dominant) hand. This challenge will span 8 weeks in duration. Everyday has been an interesting/frustrating/rewarding/educational experience so far. Hope you'll enjoy the journey along with me.

In the above piece I used a random photograph from the internet to study as a subject. I thought the lighting, woman and jewelry were all beautiful and I wanted to see about painting it all. Plus, the more detailed the subject the more challenging it is to take on. The broader strokes are a lot easier to take on than the fine details on any day let alone with my left hand. However, it was still a lot of fun. It's definitely a practice in patience.
